History
Until 1993 the Perfusionists in Greece were trained, on the
job.
In order to upgrade the educational standards and the work
conditions in the operation rooms, we established our society
in 1993.
From that time, we set up meetings, seminars and congresses
and we achieved the E.B.C.P. diploma, for all our members.
Perfusionists, who want to join our association, must be
certified by recognized programs of E.B.C.P. or by a
recognized school, of Europe or United States.
We continuously negotiate with the each time Greek
Government, in order to be a recognized profession and have an
official training program.
At these days, we are 40 members and approximately, 8.000
operations, take places every year in Greece, at 18 heart
surgery centers.
