EU
Common Platform
Two members of the EBCP were present for a meeting in
Brussels with a lawyer from the EU commission concerning regulation of professions.
For the EBCP to be regulated by the EU, it would need 18 member states or 2/3
of all member states with national recognition.
However, the EU commission recognises that EBCP
certified perfusionists are experts in perfusion.
The database of regulated professions can be found
under
http://ec.europa.eu/internal_market/qualifications/regprof/regprofs/dsp_regprofs.cfm?profId=1485
and a list of professional organisations under
http://ec.europa.eu/internal_market/qualifications/links_en.htm#proforganisations
European
Economic and Social Committee
One member of the EBCP attended this meeting in
Brussels. The Chairman of this group stated that the EBCP is known to be well
organised and that it meets all the criteria to enter into their database. The
EBCP rules might become EU rules in the future.

The upcoming conference will be held on Saturday 13th
September 2008 in Lisbon. The title of the meeting is “Innovations in
